India's electricity requirement grew by 9.6% in FY 2022-23 over previous year, and by 8.5% during April ? October 2023 over same period in 2022, a latest update from the Ministry of Power stated. Southern Region has seen the maximum surge of 15.8% in the current fiscal followed by 11.5% rise in the Western Region. The total electricity supply has edged up by 8.8% in current fiscal.
