Ashok Leyland sales slide marginally in May'23

While medium & heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) sales increased 4% YoY to 8,270 units, total light commercial vehicles (LCV) sales slipped 9% YoY to 4,864 last month.

The company's domestic sales of commercial vehicles during the period under review aggregated to 12,378 units, lower by 1% compared with the same period last year.

Ashok Leyland is engaged in manufacture and sale of a wide range of commercial vehicles. The company also manufactures engines for industrial and marine applications, forgings and castings.

The Hinduja Group company's standalone net profit declined 16.6% to Rs 751.41 crore despite of 32.95% jump in revenue from operations to Rs 11,625.67 crore in Q4 FY23 from Rs 901.37 crore over Q4 FY22.

The scrip rose 0.51% to end at Rs 147.10 on the BSE.
